The Children's Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) is an initiative of the Commonwealth's Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS). It is an effort by MassHealth to provide more community-based behavioral health or mental health services to youth under the age of 21 who have MassHealth and who meet the criteria. Sometimes these services are also called “Rosie D.” services. River Valley Counseling Center provides CBHI In-Home Therapy (IHT) services.
In-Home Therapy (IHT) is an intensive therapeutic service delivered by a team consisting of a qualified clinician and a qualified paraprofessional. These services are provided in any setting where the youth is naturally located, including, but not limited to, the home, a foster home, school, child care agencies, and other community settings. These services are flexible to meet the needs of the families. Prospective youth and families must have medical necessity for IHT services, for which the level of care would be determined by the criteria guidelines.
